SAVE THE DATE | Urban Node Berlin-Brandenburg

21/09/2015 to 22/09/2015

Europe's metropolitan regions - its urban nodes - are constituent components of the "Trans-European Transport Network" (TEN-T) concept, introduced at the end of 2013. The Capital Region Berlin-Brandenburg is an important urban node situated at the intersection of three trans-European Core Network Corridors (Scandinavian-Mediterranean, North Sea-Baltic and Orient/East-Med). Confronted with similar challenges and opportunities resulting from an overlap of traffic flows, the urban nodes must take a new approach to cooperation at regional and European level.

In consultation with the regional economy, science and politics a process of self-organization in the urban node Berlin-Brandenburg has been started. This process is aimed at the one hand to support the Core Network Corridor Coordinators - appointed by the European Commission - with the implementation of the corridor programmes and on the other hand to initiate projects with European added value and to eliminate bottlenecks in the region.

With the participation of the Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Planning Brandenburg, the Berlin Senate Administration for Urban Development and Environment and in cooperation with the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Berlin, the already established cooperation framework and the planned regional initiatives and measures in the Capital Region will be presented during the "URBAN NODE BERLIN-BRANDENBURG TEN-T regional conference" on 21st/22nd September 2015 in Berlin. The aim is to maintain the ongoing regional awareness for Trans-European Transport Network into the Capital Region and to start the discussion in an international context. One key point of the agenda is also the international dialogue between urban nodes and regions along the corridors.

High-level speakers from the European Parliament, the European Commission, the Core Network Corridor Coordinators, representatives from neighbouring states, the state and federal level and the urban nodes and regions along the corridors have already confirmed their participation.
Please make a note in your calendar for the "URBAN NODE BERLIN-BRANDENBURG TEN-T regional conference".

The complete programme including a registration form will be available at the beginning of July 2015. Further information is available at
